@john20161 Rats are just like people. You will find unpleasant ones from good families and good ones in bad. There are lazy rats, hyper rats, fraidy rats, explorer rats, etc. The biggest difference is males (bucks) and females (doe’s). The females are smaller and more active while the males are way more curious and outgoing. I have a colony of 5 bucks. If you want to see what they are like I have a lot of videos to chose from. The only disappointment about rats is that they have very short life span of about 2 years only. I had two rats and both of them died at the age of about 2. And you can imagine how sad you feel when your pet dies.

@Dan080808 Move their poops to one corner of the cage every time you spot one. they will eventually learn that poop goes THERE, and will not go unless they are in their cage… I mean, unless they really gotta go. Mine doesn’t ever go to the bathroom outside her cage now.

um thats NOT a rex rat it may CARRY rex but thats a standard coat not a rex coat. and the coat isnt “silver gray” it is possibly wheaten fawn or something like that

Haha, lousy expert. The cages are way to small. Her mother rat just had baby’s and she lets her walk with Tar the male rat. They can have sex in like.. Less then a second, for real. It is not responsible to let the female with the male. And dude.. The eyes are closed for six weeks?? No way. Two weeks, two and a half tops.
@Ingiequeen Yes, wood shavings are very bad for the airway system of a rat. There is also to much dust in it. They can get lung problems.

Blondy doesn’t seem rex. As far as I can see her whiskers are straight which means she’s not a rex rat.
Oh and rats without tails are severely handicapped. They can’t keep balance and can’t keep their body temperature good. Rats without fur also can’t keep their body temperature right and are worse at communicating for they can’t put their fur up. Good breeders don’t breed with these rats. Rex rats are usually fine, but it is possible that their whiskers grow into their eyesIf you’ve only had rats for eightteen months you might want to consider letting an experienced expert teach about rat care =/
Her rats don’t seem to like her all that much. I mean.. my rats come running when they can hear me close, I never have to lift up their little houses, nor do I want to. If they don’t come when they hear you they most likely don’t want to be bothered.
