Chinchilla,lizard,ferret,hedgehog,sugar glider,dumbo rat?

Okay i have 2 gerbils,1 Genia pig,1 parakeet, and 1 outdoor dog. I really want another pet. I also consider myself a pretty avid pet owner.(not the greedy version of the word i mean vigorous pursuit cuz i do plan 2 b a vet 1 day) I want 2 have as much experience with exotic animals as possible. I also do LOTS of research b 4 i get a pet. ( I stayed online for 4hrs. looking 4 gerbil information) I also have TONS of books on animals so don’t say i want b prepared when i get a pet. Well to get to the point my question asks which pet is the best. I have a book that says all are great pets but some can b hard 2 take care of (like the ferret through sugar glider) or they can b expensive. I have about 0 to chip in on along with my parents and christmas coming up. So can anyone tell me which ones best, not to pricey, not 2 difficult 2 clean up after,if it needs a buddy, and tell me if theirs a shelter near Texarkana,Texas that has 1? ( r a shelter maby close to Texarkana?) O and if the animal where 2 get out of its cage,(I’m not sayn i don’t lock up my pets from harms way),cud it harm one of my pets r my pet i already have harm it? o nd if u wouldn’t mind cud u give me some sites and info on these pets. ( sry 4 the long question but at least ud b helping me nd a homeless animal) If any 1 can give some time 2 answer my question me and my new best friend wud b grateful. :)
O nd my dog is not mistreaded in any way by staying outside. We hav a 3 acre wood fenced in yard and there are no other dogs near our house for him 2 dig out from under the fence to go after and he also has an airconditioner and heater in his dog housewith lots of lavish treats nd toys nd gets taken 2 a park bout 3 times a week plus yard playtime hes also 5yrs.he has frontline plus 4 no fleas(We hav quite a bit of money cuz my moms a doctor and my dads a lawyer but they want me 2 learn money responsibility so they always make me work 4 something which i dnt mind) And my gueina pig did hav a friend but she died at 7yrs old while hes 6 and his uncle pig comes ovr evry other day and his cage is like 7ft by 3ft and has tons of toys, gerbils hav a 25 gallon tank with sevral treats toys and about 6in. deep bedding for digging. While parekeet has 5 cage with bout 5 toys and treat sticks. So if my knowledge is correct i dnt think they r mistreated in any way,but things can always b improved

In my opinion, you are not a very good owner keeping your dog outdoors. No dog is suitable for outdoor life. All dogs should be part of the family, not some alarm clock. If you are looking for something new to do, why not improve your dog’s life instead of getting a new pet? Whether it needs more training or what, you could research and keep busy doing that. So it might be a lot of fun for you, plus you will be a better pet owner.

Right off, I will tell you that ferrets and sugar gliders are not at all what you seem to be looking for, being expensive, messy and difficult.

Chinchillas, hedgehogs and rats are not quite as expensive or hard, but still quite so. All three would need more than or about $100 for starting costs. Keep in mind that chinchillas alone usually sell for $100 or more, but you can find all these for small adoption fees in shelters. Hedgehogs can be messy, like ferrets, and sometimes difficult to get along with. Chinchillas and rats both need at least one companion.

There is a huge array of lizards. Some will cost $50 others a few hundreds. One great begginer lizard that is cheap is the leopard gecko. You only need one, and they poop once a day, so very easy to clean. You do however must feed them live bugs which need thier own care.

And the only animals that could harm your other pets are those that are typically hunters. So in this case ferrets are the biggest danger. Hedgehogs as well, but they tend to stay out of the way instead of picking fights. Rats and chins are timid like guinea pigs or gerbils and would only attack if they cannot run away and hide.
